MIAS (Mountain Bike Instructor Award Scheme) is one of the most respectful Mountain-bike Guide – Instructor qualifications as well as a basic prerequisite for working with many MTB organizations and Cycling Travel companies across Europe.

Μountain bike leader / instructor qualifications
MIAS Mountain-bike Leader Level One (MBL1) NON-TECHNICAL, Level Two (MBL2) TECHNICAL and Level Three (MBL3) MOUNTAINOUS is aimed at people wishing to lead groups in mountain bike activities.
The qualification is widely used by the following organizations: independent mountain bike guides, mountain bike holiday companies, teachers, military personnel, police service, youth leaders and scout leaders. The qualification will allow the successful award holder to lead and instruct adults and children on technical and non-technical ground within Europe.
The course is a recognised qualification and is validated through the NVQ Awarding Body of NCFE. The course has accreditation with: European Organisation of Mountain Bike Instructor-Guides, The Association of British Cycle Coaches, Cyclists Touring Club (CTC), The Adventure Activities Licencing Authority (AALA), Learning Outside The Classroom Badge, Innovate Awarding and the NVQ Awarding Body of NCFE.
The ratios of 1:6 should be adhered to at all times & the award holder must hold a current valid first aid qualification to operate as a leader / instructor.
The courses are two-day sessions held in Thessaloniki three times per year (autumn, winter, and spring). They begin at 09:00 in the morning and conclude at approximately 16:00 each day. All courses are conducted in Greek.
The participation fee includes registration, membership card, MIAS membership (valid for 3 years), logbook, course notes, and certification. A reduced fee is available for early registration, up to one month prior to the course.
